i upgrade to vista 64-bit because i need the extra memory for multiple VMware machines for software development (32-bit can only handle a little more than 3GB). i honestly do like Windows XP Pro better than Vista but i'm glad 64-bit is starting to be recognized and whether i like it or not Vista will bring the demands for 64-bit apps. if you run VMWare then you owe it to yourself to run Vista x64 with at least 4GB.
my main computer is now vista x64 and guess what, window blinds doesn't run on it. too bad cuz i dislike the aero gui. i use the Vista Basic interface. my machine scores a 5.8 on the performance index, so my machine is more than adequate it is fast! i transferred my WB license to my work puter since i cannot use it at home. i really want to improve a few things in pico-tx as well as pico-black. until window blinds works in vista x64 or in a VMWare machine i can't fulfill any requests. sorry guys, blame stardock!
